The nursery

When last we visited the nursery, it looked a little something like this:

But fear not!  Work began in earnest exactly two weeks ago today, and much progress has been made.  Lest you think our little munchkin would be deprived of a proper room of his own, I present you with the almost-final-product.

We ended up with a nautical-ish theme.  No shocker there if you've met his father!

Some blank wall space above the rocker, just waiting for the little guy's mug shot.

Stole this peg board idea from the internets (maybe even from the Pinterest?).  Love how it turned out.
The plan is to add pictures of far away loved ones to the board so they aren't so far away after all.

So game on, suckers.  Let's get this party started.

Which one of these is not like the other

Today, I folded some baby laundry.  The size of the teeny tiny clothes is still quite comical to me.  Makes me wonder if folding mini laundry will ever get old.  I'm sure it will, but for now, it's way more entertaining than folding normal clothes.

Anyway.

One of the mini loads contained a few hooded towels.  One towel in particular caught my eye, and the more I studied the pattern printed on it, the more confused I became.  Let's take a look-see, shall we?

I mean, what in the world is going on with this towel?  It's like the designer started off with a nautical theme in mind..boat, whale, fish, anchor, skull and crossbones, if we're stretching we could include the star and lightning because sailors and pirates deal with weather?

After searching clip art files for the necessary icons, the designer presented her pattern to the executives gathered around the conference room table.  After her enthusiastic presentation came to a close, there was silence around the table.  Some furrowed brows.  Some pursed lips and a few deep exhales.

"You know what this needs?  What would really put it over the top?" one executive says to the group.

"A squirrel.  And an elephant."

Everyone gathered erupts in exclamations of agreement.  Of course!  A squirrel! And an elephant!  One of the biggest creatures alongside one of the smallest creatures.  Such harmony!

A squirrel?  Wait...squirrels like boats?  The designer was perplexed.  And an elephant?  Can they even swim?

The designer gathered her files hastily, shuffled back to her cubicle, and finally put to good use the flask that she'd kept hidden in her desk drawer for all those years.

Can I get an amen?
